Our work and our lifestyles mean we sit more, which also means we use less energy than when we stand or move. Furthermore, extended sitting – whether at a desk, behind a wheel or in front of a screen – can contribute to increased mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.
However, there are ways that we can counter the effects of too much sitting. And one of those ways are with body exercises that not only help to increase body consciousness, but also improve our overall physical and mental health and wellbeing.
